Is BoxPlayer free? Do I need a paid subscription?

BoxPlayer's app features are free. There is no paywall for playback, cloud-drive management, reading, media libraries, search workflows, or BYOK AI. Pro only includes optional BoxPlayer-hosted AI fair-use credits for users who do not want to configure their own API key.

How do hosted AI credits work?

Hosted AI credits apply only when you use BoxPlayer-provided AI capacity, such as AI search, reader conversations, translation, text-to-speech, and AI media scraping. BYOK uses your own provider quota and does not consume BoxPlayer-hosted credits.

Can I use my own API key instead of Pro?

Yes. After signing in, configure OpenAI, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Ollama, or any OpenAI-compatible key in Settings. BYOK keeps the same app workflows available while billing usage to your own AI provider.

How do I upgrade to Pro? Which payment methods are supported?

Download BoxPlayer and log in, then choose Android Pro Early Access (Android / Android TV only) or a monthly, yearly, or lifetime all-platform Pro plan. Payment is completed securely through Waffo Pancake hosted checkout.

Does Pro work on all my devices?

All-platform Pro does: sign in with the same BoxPlayer account to share access across iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, Android, Windows, and Linux. Android Pro Early Access is deliberately limited to Android and Android TV.

What is the difference between Android Pro and all-platform Pro?

Android Pro is for Android and Android TV only, including phones, tablets, and TV devices. It does not work on Apple, Windows, or Linux.

All-platform Pro supports Android, Android TV, iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, Windows, and Linux. Benefits are bound to your BoxPlayer account and sync when you sign in on another supported device.

How do I redeem a BoxPlayer Pro code?

Monthly, yearly, and lifetime Pro codes apply to a registered BoxPlayer account.

  1. Open BoxPlayer Account Center.
  2. Register or sign in to your BoxPlayer account.
  3. Open Account → Subscription status.
  4. Enter the code and confirm redemption.
  5. Sign in with the same account on another device and refresh the account status to sync the entitlement.

Can I get a refund?

Subscriptions may include a 7-day free trial and renew automatically after the trial unless cancelled. Completed subscription charges and lifetime purchases are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or for duplicate charges, unauthorized transactions, technical failures, or service unavailability reported within 7 days.

All-platform Pro is shared across iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, Android, Windows, and Linux when signed in with the same BoxPlayer account.
