Tool integration

Organize media with clouddrive-cli: preview first, then apply

About 5 min read4 practical tasks

Before batch-organizing media, define the target folder, naming rule, and reversible scope. Use the command-line tool for a clear plan, not for an unreviewed change to an entire drive.

Walkthrough

  1. 1

    Choose one small test folder

Start with a few movies or one show folder, not the whole cloud drive. Keep the original structure available so you can recognize and correct a problem quickly.

  2. 2

Define one naming problem to solve

For example, add movie years or standardize TV season and episode numbers. Do not mix rename, move, and delete operations in the same first pass.

  3. 3

    Review the plan and candidates

Inspect the files in scope and every suggested name before applying a change. Skip similar names, uncertain years, and possible conflicts until you can confirm them manually.

  4. 4

Return to the library to verify

Refresh the matching media library and confirm that metadata improved. If you find an error, stop expanding the change and correct that recorded batch first.

Before you finish

  • The first run uses a small folder
  • The naming rule is clear and excludes deletion
  • The resulting media-library matches were verified
