Connect Jellyfin, Emby, and Plex to BoxPlayer

About 6 min read4 practical tasks

When your media is already managed by Jellyfin, Emby, or Plex, BoxPlayer can connect as a single playback client. Confirm the server address, account, and local or remote access before adding it.

Walkthrough

  1. 1

Prepare the server address and account

Check the accessible address, port, and user account in your server administration page. Use a local address at home and a secure, configured remote address when away.

  2. 2

Add a media-server source in BoxPlayer

Choose Jellyfin, Emby, or Plex, enter the address, and sign in. Give every server a clear name so multiple homes or accounts are easy to distinguish.

  3. 3

    Check the first sync

Confirm that movies, shows, collections, and continue watching are visible. If a library is empty, verify that the account has permission to access it on the server.

  4. 4

Adjust playback for the file and network

Choose compatibility mode, tracks, and subtitles when needed. If playback fails, first check whether the same title plays in the server web app, then investigate network conditions.

Before you finish

  • The server address is reachable from this network
  • The signed-in account can access the intended libraries
  • Movies, shows, and watch progress appear as expected
